The challenge

Healthscope had launched a programme to implement cutting edge clinical and non-clinical systems for their Australian hospital network. Many of the systems had not previously been implemented on such a large scale in Australia, so the project required the deployment of specialised implementation experience and unique skill sets. These included the right technical IT implementation skills and clinical systems implementation experience, as well as the business process skills required to implement and support new administrative, clinical and non-clinical applications. As such, Healthscope’s IT Manager Nathan Way approached Transform IT to assist.

Normally, attracting candidates who have the right mix of clinical and technical IT system implementation experience can be a significant challenge for hospitals and healthcare organisations. However, because Transform IT specialises in connecting organisations with these types of highly specialised, sought-after candidates, we were able to help Nathan with candidates that would have not only the right technical and clinical system implementation experience, but also the right personality to fit and promote Healthscope’s organisational culture.

The approach

Our first step was to understand the core needs of the roles and how they would fit into the team. We worked closely with Nathan and his team to understand their requirements, the mix of skills needed, and the right personality fit.

We wanted the process to be as efficient as possible for the team, so we created a shortlist of three candidates who met their criteria. After going through our thorough briefing process, we spent most of our time screening and searching for potential candidates, so that Nathan and his team could focus on a more streamlined process.

Nathan’s team was then able to spend the minimum time needed to interview only the best, candidates and therefore spend more of their time on the complex implementations required.

The result

By ensuring we had a detailed understanding of Nathan’s requirements, we were able to find quality candidates that had both the IT and hospital business experience required.

Nathan and his team now have excellent staff who can support and implement these new hospital systems, with the particularly pleasing feedback that the chosen staff members fit seamlessly into Healthscope’s high-performing culture.

We are proud to include Nathan Way and Healthscope as another example of providing the right candidates to ensure successful IT implementations, further cementing our reputation as a preferred provider for public and private hospitals and healthcare organisations nationally.
